After the petition filed by the Supreme Court against the reservation roster, the door to become a lecturer in colleges and universities for the reserved category has almost been closed.
There is no provision of reservations already on the post of associate professor and professor. Now the appointment to Assistant Professor will be affected by the new decision. The government had challenged the judgment of Allahabad High Court (April, 2017) of the 13-point reservation roster (13 point roster) in the Supreme Court. On January 22, the Supreme Court dismissed the government's SLP, in which a demand for implementing the 200-point reservation roster system for 13 was sought. Supreme Court justified the Allahabad High Court verdict. According to the new decision, subject / departmental reservation roster will be prepared for appointment to the post of assistant professor of colleges and universities. This will be based on the 13 Point Roster system. The first three posts will be reserved for general and the fourth term will be reserved for OBC. Fifth-sixth position will also be normal. Advertisements in Central University often leave vacancies of one or two posts in one subject. Thus, the reserved category will not be able to get the chance in the Central Universities. State universities have more or less the same situation. It is so rare that seven or fourteen posts are advertised for the posts of assistant professors in one subject by the state universities.
